A life crisis is a portal to awakening

Life crises are a natural part of life. They can be triggered by a divorce, illness or death in the family. Or when you get to a new stage in life. When you reach the age of 40-50, most women and men experience a midlife crisis or an existential crisis, where you experience a void.

The children have flown out of the nest and they do not need you as much as before ...

You may be single and without children ...

Your job or your hobbies do not give you meaning and joy in the same way as before ...

You notice several wrinkles and that your body and your appearance have changed ...

You are tired. You do not feel passion and desire for things in the same way as before ...

You feel negative, lonely, sad and slightly depressed ...

You try to pull yourself up and motivate yourself, but it's like the old tricks do not work. You cannot stand anything, you just most want to hide under the duvet ...

If you feel this way, you should know that I understand you 100%. I myself have experienced this midlife crisis "on and off" in the last couple of years and it is as if I have to constantly dive into something to become wiser about myself and my own life.

When you are "down" and it feels like you are in a big hole, it can be hard to see the point of it all. It can be hard to see the way forward. But instead of asking why you ended up here and why you feel this way, start asking yourself how you can use this time to become more aware of yourself and your life. What could you learn from this crisis?

The midlife crisis is a portal to awakening. It can be uncomfortable because you come in contact with emotions that you may not have felt for some time. It can be uncomfortable because you realize to a greater degree that life has an end and death is inevitable. Or maybe you just feel like something is "off".

But the crisis invites you to feel into what is really important to you. A deeper contact with yourself. And thus also what you really want in your life NOW and in the future ... You can examine your life values and what kind of life you want to live and create now. And with whom. What you want to spend your time on. What is it that gives you and your life meaning NOW.

So while a crisis may be hard emotionally, it allows you to change things that no longer work for you, change course, and do something new.

  • Once you know what's important to you, you can start a new life with new meaning and new perspective.
  • Once you have dived into your emotions and your soul calling, you can see yourself and your life in a new light.
  • Once you change perspective and know what you really want, you can begin to take steps toward it with renewed clarity, energy, and passion.
